TM Horse Haven is a local nonprofit dedicated to providing a safe space for people to rest, restore, and renew. We are committed to ensuring that those who visit have the opportunity to experience the peace and calm that comes from being present in nature, grounding that comes from interaction and reflection, and the transformation of thought that encourages them to make positive and lasting changes in their lives and actions.

where people have the time and space to care for their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being while connecting with others and/or simply enjoying nature and our animals.

Our Story
Welcome! We’re Kyle and Chelsea Kirchhoefer, proud parents of two strong and spirited girls, and the founders of TM Horse Haven. We've dedicated our lives investing in transformation of all types (I.e., personal, professional, spiritual, or in the name of support community and building relationships). From caring for rescue horses to building businesses, our passion has always been helping things bloom into stronger, more fulfilled versions of themselves.
In 2020, like many families, we found ourselves overwhelmed—raising young kids, running businesses, and navigating the pandemic. We turned to horseback riding lessons, a dream for our girls, and quickly realized the barn offered more than just riding-- it had a profound effect on our entire family. The quiet rhythms of horses, the daily chores, and time outdoors gave our family peace, purpose, and a sense of calm we didn’t even know we were missing.The more time we spent with the horses, the more we felt grounded, connected, and alive. We saw firsthand the healing power of nature and animal care, and we knew we wanted to create a place where others could experience the same.
In 2021, we welcomed our first horse, rescued a pony soon after, and began searching for a property of our own. By 2022, TM Horse Haven was born—a safe haven for both animals and people, built with love, purpose, and a vision for lasting connection.

At TM Horse Haven, we dream of creating a space where people can rest, restore, and discover a renewed a sense of purpose—just as we experienced with our own family. We dream of the land full of animals, kids playing in the fields, and a community connecting with nature in the midst of busy lives. Our passion is helping you find space to breathe, reflect, connect, and imagine new possibilities for the future—whether that’s personal growth, professional goals, building relationships, or simply celebrating life.
We’re “come as you are” people (usually in jeans and cowboy boots), and we welcome you just the same. So throw on your favorite pair of shoes and join us on our beautiful property nestled to the south of the University of Illinois’ Willard Airport.
